Dental Hygiene Or Cleaning
Every 3-6 months, a visit to our dental hygienist is recommended to remove tartar buildup to ensure good oral health. During the hygiene visit we will measure the bone level around each tooth and any recession areas present. X-rays will be taken once per year to ensure there are no problem areas that cannot be visualized during the exam the dentist will complete at each visit. Maintaining regularly scheduled cleanings not only helps with oral health but also helps with overall health. Here are some videos on oral health care.
If it has been a long time since you have visited a dentist you may need scaling and root planing, often called a deep cleaning. An evaluation by a dentist is needed to determine if you need this type of cleaning.
